Sclerotherapy Injections in New Zealand
Not all varicose veins require a procedure using heat or surgery. Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a specially prepared solution to close certain varicose and reticular veins, making it an appropriate option for many patients depending on their ultrasound findings. Dr Maged Aziz provides sclerotherapy as part of an individualized treatment plan, following a consultation and ultrasound assessment to determine the most suitable approach for your veins.
How Sclerotherapy Works
A Convenient Treatment Option
Sclerotherapy appointments are typically straightforward, allowing many patients to return to their usual daily activities afterwards. Depending on the size and number of veins being treated, more than one session may sometimes be recommended. You may be advised to wear compression stockings for a short period following treatment and to keep walking regularly while avoiding strenuous activity for a short time. Dr Aziz will provide aftercare instructions based on your individual circumstances.
Part of a Personalised Vein Care Plan
Sclerotherapy is not the right choice for every type of varicose vein. Some patients may be more suited to radiofrequency ablation or VenaSeal, while others may benefit from a combination of procedures. Because Dr Aziz personally performs and reviews your ultrasound scan, any recommendation is based on how your veins are functioning rather than applying the same treatment to everyone.
